Top 5 Ways to Improve Treatment Efficiency with a RapidCart

What procedures do you do 90% of the time? As far as general dentists are concerned, these are restorative procedures - and we call them your “90% Profile”. To be as productive as possible, you need to  have one week’s worth of materials used for 90% of the dentistry you do at your fingertips. These supplies must be visual because if I can’t see it, I can’t use it. In a perfect world, every operatory is set up identically.  It’s not logical or cost effective to equip each operatory with supplies, equipment and/or technology for the other 10% of your procedures. So, we need to have an efficient way to deploy this stuff! The ability to mobilize technology and supplies with a Doctor Specialty Cart (from Ergonomic Products) is the answer. The dental practices that can do any type of dentistry, in any operatory, anytime, perform amongst the nation’s top 1% in production per hour.

Can your team turn an operatory over in less than 4 minutes? Yeah right, that’s a laugh! Remember the patient who was scheduled for a routine filling? That two dimensional image didn’t do that tooth any justice when you cut into it. Maybe your staff set up the op for a routine filling…..then that fickle finger of fate happened - exposure. Back in the (my) day, when the dentist said “I need to start a root canal” in my head it was time for a drink. It was at least 15 minutes of set up. First, I had to find the endo unit and all its components...then unwind all the cords...then power them up…then find the supplies....then make syringes of NaOCl and get the instruments. There was always something missing. Like, oh yeah, the doctor. He was likely in his office on the phone, waiting for me to get set up. When I was ready so were both hygienists waiting for hygiene checks. Now we’re running 30 minutes behind. Sound familiar? Show of hands?

What if this could be easier? It can. The Doctor Specialty Cart is equipped with power folks! The surface on top is Corian, a medical grade surface that will last forever. It features two drawers. Lewis Bins are perfect inserts for these drawers - which takes organizing your supplies to another level. An adjustable shelf is the icing on the cake. And you even get to pick cabinetry and Corian colors to match your practice!

Drs. Specialty RapidCart set up for Endo.

Here are the top Top 5 Ways I’ve implemented a Doctor Specialty Rapid Cart

  1. Endo - All endo supplies are stored in this cart. If you only use a rubber dam for endo, these materials and supplies would also be in this cart. PLEASE NOTE: If you use rubber dams for any other procedures, do not stock your rubber dam supplies in this cart.

  2. Implant Surgery - If you are placing implants, the Doctor Specialty Rapid Cart is ideal. Implants can be stored in drawers. It’s common to stock bone, saline and grafting materials in drawers as well. This, of course, depends on how many implants you are placing a year. Remember, if placing implants is in your 90% profile, this solution does not apply.
  3. Laser/Electrosurge - Requires power right?
  4. Triturators - Do you have one for every op? If not, mobilize it! Put everything that requires triturator use on this cart - Like amalgam and Fuji and that special applicator.
  5. Pentamix Machines - If you are not taking digital impressions, a Doctor Specialty Rapid Cart makes a suburb impression cart - especially if you use a Pentamix machine. With its large surface, you can also add an impression gun holder. Drawers can be stocked with tips and impression trays. Some docs prefer the use of an alginator in which case, say it with me: “Doctor Specialty Rapid Cart”.

These are my top 5 uses for this industrial rapid cart.  This day in age, we have to give out participation awards. So making honorable mentions are air abrasion units and hygiene.

This is no ordinary cart everybody. This isn’t like one of those cheap storage carts you find on Ebay or Amazon. It’s durable, and the right size and shape for clinical spaces. Afterall, the Doctor Specialty was designed by a dentist for a purpose. From the indents on the Corian to the five power outlets included, this piece of equipment is a solution that makes practicing dentistry easier. It’s also been reviewed by the Clinicians Report and considered a must have.

Now, guess what? Ergonomic Products is letting me GIVE you 2 free Lewis Bins if you order! Just enter the Promo Code “Blog Bins” on their Contact Page. And happy Rapid Carting!
